At Bluefoot Architecture & Design, we approach every project with clarity and intention, blending architecture, interiors, and furnishings into spaces that feel effortless and deeply personal.
With over 40+ years of combined experience, Principal Architect Jay Volz leads our architectural practice with a focus on modern, custom, and context‑driven design. His work is grounded in a deep understanding of form, flow, and the technical requirements that shape successful remodels, additions, and new construction projects.
Our interior design direction, led by Michele Doyle, brings a refined approach to materials, furnishings, and spatial composition. She creates interiors that balance beauty and function, curating cohesive environments that reflect each client’s lifestyle and aesthetic.

I have known Jay well over 30 years, and consider him a good friend. I first worked with Jay on a professional athlete’s home. We produced a truly special design. Fast forward, Jay is my go-to architect whether commercial or residential. Jay brings a complete bundle of great design, common sense, and a personality that has always worked well with clients. I really like the guy-I’m grateful that our relationship has produced well over 75 projects since the 90’s.

Michele and her staff at Bluefoot worked with my wife and me on a major home and ADU remodeling project last year. This involved a down-to-the-studs remodel of our master bath suite as well as major changes to our master bedroom and study. Our old, bare bones ADU, built in 1987, was demolished and completely rebuilt. Michele did an outstanding job, translating our design preferences into plans that were both practical and beautiful. She also worked seamlessly with our contractor to ensure that the project reflected our collective vision and was completed in a timely manner. We have now lived in the new space for many months and couldn’t be happier.
